About Chinese phonetic input method of HLV
In 2015, Tham Wai Houng, the seventy-year-old professor, invented this rapid input method called HLV after 15 years of dedication and studies. On the basis of current Chinese phonetic alphabet, users can use different English letters for the 4 tones of “yin, yang, shang and qu”, thus speeding up typing speed.
Chinese phonetic input method of HLV realizes inputting codes for the four tones. The first tone is without the tone mark, for example, ma for Chinese character “妈”;the second tone “h” as its tone mark, for example, mah for Chinese character “麻”, the third tone “l” as its tone mark, for example, mal for Chinese character “马”, the fourth tone “v” as its tone mark, for example, mav for Chinese character “骂”. There are many Chinese characters with the same pronunciation, for example, “zhong” is the phonetic alphabet for “中”, “锺” or “终”. To solve this, HLV initiates a system called “Radical Code”, which enables every radical to be replaced by its respective English letter, for example, “中” for “zhong”, “锺” for “zhongjp”.
The biggest advantage of this Chinese phonetic alphabet system and input method is that, it can simplify the typing process, and there is no need for users to search the words in the situation where Chinese characters are with the same phonetic alphabets and different tones. Users simply need to type phonetic alphabets and the letter that replaces the tone, and the Chinese characters would pop up, thus solving the problem existing in the current Chinese phonetic input methods.
